Project management
Our project managers guide the entire project from receipt of manuscript to final printer files. The publisher is brought in only when exceptions arise. Our project management services include pre-delivery typescript assessment, copyediting, typesetting, proofreading, artwork creation, indexing, communication with authors, managing permissions, working with the client’s freelance copyeditors/indexers, creating jackets, and providing regular status updates on the project to the client.
Newgen has an in-house team of 83 copy-editors and proofreaders. The editors are supported by a dedicated R&D team, which works on automation and quality assurance tools.
We scale up the editing department in anticipation of increased volumes of editorial work year on year, so we always have some capacity buffer within the department to minimize setup time for new clients.
We recognize that some editing may require native speakers. Newgen has always worked successfully with freelance editors in the United Kingdom and, through its Austin and New York offices, the United States. Recently, we have established a freelance pool in Israel. The quality of any freelance editorial work is monitored by the managing editor in India.
